Tunnel Stalker

Dank tunnels and horrific monsters? I deal with that before breakfast.

With the corruption of the Gloomways over the years, the dwarves that once saw them as their most spectacular creation now view them as a threat to security. Abominations and worse lurk in the dark places under the world, and the Gloomways are no longer safe for any to travel.

Tunnel Stalkers are those who dedicate their lives to purging the Gloomways, learning to fight in tight quarters with little support, to ignore the need for light, and to avoid the worst tricks of the foul creatures that now lurk in the tunnels. While their skills lend mostly towards fighting in the Gloomways, it's not uncommon to see tunnel stalkers on the surface, generally traveling to explore or purge old dwarven holds that are no longer comnnected to the main cities.

Playing a Tunnel Stalker

Dwarves are the most common tunnel stalkers, giving that the Gloomways are a dwarven creation and only accessible through dwarven holds. Others sometimes find themselves learning the techniques, however - humans who have acclimated to dwarven societies, or surfacers who learn from former tunnel stalkers now exploring the surface. Regardless, tunnel stalkers almost to a man view it as their duty to exterminate any aberrations they encounter, which often includes orcs on the surface.
